Once the Olds arrived at Maryland Muscle Cars (MMC) they started to long and tedious process of inspecting her very carefully. Then the disassembly process started. I received some pictures near the end of April 2009. These pictures, along with an email from MMC, stated what I feared the most – the Olds rusted throughout and patched in many areas with globs of bondo.
One picture in particular said it all, the cowl was rusted through and the MMC folks and I had no idea how the windshield stayed intact with all the stress that is placed on it when driving with the top down. It was time for a dose of reality, did I want to spend kind of money that would be required to get all this fixed or just search for another ’68 Olds 4-4-2 convertible. This specific car had too much sentimental value for me and I knew I would regret it if I let it slip through again.

This car has a lot of memories with my Dad, family and friends. Not knowing how to fund such a large project, I decided that I would just figure out a way to manage as we moved forward with restoration.
