Late August 2011 the car arrived back from Kolors by Tuki. This time MMC decided to let the car stay with Travis until it was fully cured and ready for travel back for reassembly.

I took a tip out on that day and was shown the massive amount of parts, all organized on tables, with labels ready for the long task or reassembly.
Of course at this time we were also thinking about interior, canvas top and electrical. I had looked at a company named Interiors by Shannon out of Alexander City, Alabama. I was blown away by the custom work that he does. I did call and was told that it would be well over a year before he could get to my car. Shannon does one car at a time and he is a one-man shop. He has had tons of awards and featured in many popular car magazines. This would have been my first choice but the wait list was way too long!
John and Rick found a shop in Roanoke, Virginia called Kings Auto Upholstery. The good news was that Kings could also complete the top and electrical work, including lights and sound system. I went to their shop and spent some time with Freddie King the owner. He showed some beautiful muscle cars that his crew was working on and the work was of very high quality and standards. We went through some of my ideas and what he thought would be good choices to make. By now, I had decided that I would use a black canvas and back interior on the car. The tan interior with red paint just didn’t seem to work for me.

More on the interior later. As Rick works on the details of the Olds’ reassembly, he is also working on the chassis and drivetrain.
