Coming into nearly three years on this project. The exhaust just got installed. Finishing touches in the engine bay.
Rick is scrambling to get the Olds ready so that it can be sent off to Kings Auto Upholstery so that Freddie King can do his magic.
Small details like the power antenna, HID headlights, headlight bezels, batter tray, trim work (after they were reconditioned) and a lot of other small task that needed to be completed. Not to mention the custom work that still remained for the W-30 OAI to be installed.

One problem we encountered was the trunk lid. With the non 1968 wing attached to the hood, it was too heavy for the spring bars to keep the trunk lifted up. Even after Rick moved the braces to the max tension, the trunk would not stay up. The suggestion was to use a custom made chrome pole that would prop the trunk lid up. It looked horrible and just didn’t fit in to the type of build this Olds is becoming.

I did some research and it turns out the GTO spring bars had more tension to keep the trunk lid up. These were readily available in the market. So we got a set and installed it and it worked out great!
As mentioned in an earlier post, the hood hinges were reconditioned and powder coated since the billet aluminum set did not fit.
Then came time for the front fenders to be installed and aligned properly.
